Mount Auburn is a small town in Benton County, Iowa, United States. It is located in the eastern part of the state, about 22 miles east of Cedar Rapids. The town was founded in 1852 and was named after the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As of the 2020 census, the population of Mount Auburn was 149. The town covers an area of 0.24 square miles, all of it land. The town has a post office, a library and a park. The main economic activities in Mount Auburn include agriculture, manufacturing, and retail trade. The town is served by the Benton Community School District.
